Fur Oil is a firm that was launched by Lilian Tung and Laura Schubert. The firm specializes in selling natural skin and hair care for the hair down there.
The founders pitched their business idea to the sharks on the famous ABC show, Shark Tank’s 11th Season. Lilian and Laura came onto the 13th episode hoping to walk away with a deal of $500,000 for 2.5% equity in the firm. They were offered a deal but not the one that they asked for.

How Was This Company Launched?
Laura Schubert is the person that came up with the Fur Oil company and brand. She felt embarrassed discussing pubic hair in her teens but knew that it was time to change the narrative.
While in high school, Laura experienced a lot of terrible ingrown hairs and never knew how to deal with them. That was the thought that was on her mind when she attended Harvard and then Columbia business school.
She always wanted to launch her business with meaning. Several years later, she got the needed courage to start something and decided to contact her high school best friend, and co-founder Lilian. The rest in that case is history.
What Deal Did Fur Oil Get From Shark Tank?
Lilian and Laura appeared on the Shark Tank show looking for an investment of $500,000 for 2.5% equity in the business.
After pitching, the Sharks got impressed with their sales of $5 million in the past year. However, they never liked the valuation of Fur Oil. Despite that valuation, some of the Sharks were quite interested in making a deal.
Sharks, Kevin, Daymond, and Lori offered them deals. After in-depth negotiation with Lori Greiner, the co-founders walked away from that show with a deal of $500,000 for 8% equity in the business together with $50,000 to a body positivity charity.
However, Fur Oil’s deal with Lori did not push through to completion after the show.
Where Is The Company Today?
After their appearance on Shark Tank, the Fur Oil company is still thriving. Their products are now available on sale from different online stores like Amazon, Ulta, and Beauty Bay. Their products are also available at furyou.com.
Moreover, their products are also available in more than a thousand retail stores across the United States, including Free People, Urban Outfitters, Neiman Marcus, and Goop. The company records more than $1 million in annual revenue.
